Projects

Rainbow Stash Buster was a collaborative exploration of colour, ideas and individual textile practice.

Makers were challenged to create an 8-inch square textile artwork using two colours, with the colours drawn randomly and revealed live during our monthly Zoom sessions.

In 2025, Brenda Wood challenged textile artists around the world to create a 10-inch square artwork each month, responding to a designated Hero Colour and a textile technique prompt. The resulting collection of 281 individual works celebrated colour, creativity and the many ways artists interpret a shared idea.

Created and creatively mentored by textile artist Brenda Wood, Rainbow Stash: Spin the Wheel is the fourth in the Rainbow Stash series of collaborative colour challenges.

Across 12 months, makers explore the colour wheel through a different anchor colour and colour relationship each month, creating small textile artworks that investigate colour, contrast, harmony and proportion.

The completed collection will premiere alongside Rainbow Stash: Hero Colour at Quilt Expo Beaujolais, France, in March 2027, before touring Australia.
